How do I register the domain name I'm after?
Simply scroll to the top of this page and type in the domain name you need; e.g. myshop.com.au. If the domain name is available for registration, you will be taken through the ordering process from there. Otherwise you can search for another domain name.
Will my website go down if I transfer my domain to or from GTP?
Not necessarily. Before transferring your domain name to or from GTP, it’s important to check to see how your DNS records have been configured and record these down. Domains can be moved between registrars if the nameservers stay the same. New Nameservers can be setup before or after a move.
Will you send me expiration notices
Absolutely. When the time comes to renew your domain, GTP recieves notifications and we invoice you for the renewal fee. You can then choose which domains to renew or let lapse. We'll remind you a few times. It is important to pay for the renewal fee if you need the domain renewed. Note - Letting a domain lapse through non payment can devastate long term SEO benefits.
What are my payment options?
We accept Visa Card and Mastercard, as well as PayPal and Direct Deposit payments. All .AU domain names are registered in 2 year blocks, whereas all other domains can be purchased for any amount ranging from 1 year up to 10 years however we usually stick to the 2 year cycle.
What DNS records can I setup?
Using our DNS hosting console, you’re able to set up as many A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV and NS records as you require yourself, with no limit to how many changes you can make on them. Or GTP can do this for you given that's what we do for a small fee.
Can I link my domain name with Google Apps?
Yes you can. The required MX records can be assigned to Google Apps by GTP for a fee or you can do it yourself through the DNS management console.
SHOULD I REGISTER MORE THAN ONE DOMAIN NAME?
YES To Protect Your Brand
If you do not have a trademark on your business or product names, then ensuring you have the most common domain name extensions registered may protect you from a competitor using those names and costly future legal spats. If you do not have a trademark, then just because you have a registered business name does little to protect you.

NO To Reserve Different Country Extensions
A common scam email to Australian companies comes from China and tells you that a company wants to register your domain with .CH as an extension and so forth. Generally, all you need is the .com.au and .com extensions. You may also wish to eliminate .net.au being available as the other main extension.
